Italy most popular vacation destination for Americans

According to the latest Harris Poll of 2454 Americans, conducted last month by Harris Interactive, Italy is this year’s #1 destination.

On the question where they would spend a vacation outside the United States if they would not have to worry about the cost, most people answered Italy.

Italy is moving Australia to the second spot. Until this year, Australia has been top destination since 1997.  

Italy is favorite especially for women, younger people aged 18-31 and people aged 63 and older.
